This package contains HTML documentation for the python-cffi project.

The libffi library provides a portable, high level programming interface to various calling conventions. This allows a programmer to call any function specified by a call interface description at run-time.

FFI stands for Foreign Function Interface. A foreign function interface is the popular name for the interface that allows code written in one language to call code written in another language. The libffi library really only provides the lowest, machine dependent layer of a fully featured foreign function interface. A layer must exist above libffi that handles type conversions for values passed between the two languages.

libFTDI is a library to talk to FTDI chips: FT232BM, FT245BM, FT2232C, FT2232D, FT245R and FT232H including the popular bitbangmode. To use libftdi without root privileges it is necessary to install the necessary udev rules. This can be done by extending udev-service-type in the operating-system configuration file with this package, as in:

(udev-rules-service 'libftdi libftdi #:groups '("plugdev")

Additionally, the plugdev group should be registered in the supplementary-groups field of your user-account declaration. Refer to info "(guix) Base Services" for examples.

libidn is a library implementing of the Stringprep, Punycode and IDNA specifications. These are used to encode and decode internationalized domain names according to the IDNA2003 specifications. It includes native C, C# and Java libraries.

Libidn2 is an internationalized domain library implementing the IDNA2008 specifications. Libidn2 is believed to be a complete IDNA2008 implementation, but has yet to be as extensively used as the original Libidn library.

Libcdr is a library that parses the file format of CorelDRAW documents of all versions.

LibreOffice is a comprehensive office suite. It contains a number of components: Writer, a word processor; Calc, a spreadsheet application; Impress, a presentation engine; Draw, a drawing and flowcharting application; Base, a database and database frontend; Math for editing mathematics.

Dragonbox generates a pair of integers from a floating-point number: the decimal significand and the decimal exponent of the input floating-point number. These integers can then be used for string generation of decimal representation of the input floating-point number, the procedure commonly called ftoa or dtoa.

libstaroffice is an import filter for the document formats from the old StarOffice (.sdc, .sdw, ...).

Ixion is a library for calculating the results of formula expressions stored in multiple named targets, or "cells". The cells can be referenced from each other, and the library takes care of resolving their dependencies automatically upon calculation.

Libmwaw contains some import filters for old Macintosh text documents (MacWrite, ClarisWorks, ... ) and for some graphics and spreadsheet documents.

Libabw is a library that parses the file format of AbiWord documents.

Orcus is a library that provides a collection of standalone file processing filters. It is currently focused on providing filters for spreadsheet documents. The library includes import filters for Microsoft Excel 2007 XML, Microsoft Excel 2003 XML, Open Document Spreadsheet, Plain Text, Gnumeric XML, Generic XML. It also includes low-level parsers for CSV, CSS and XML.

Hyphen is a hyphenation library using TeX hyphenation patterns, which are pre-processed by a perl script.

Librevenge is a base library for writing document import filters. It has interfaces for text documents, vector graphics, spreadsheets and presentations.

This package provides a library for parsing embedded OpenType files (Microsoft embedded font "standard"), and converting them to other formats.

Libzmf is a library that parses the file format of Zoner Callisto/Draw documents. Currently it only understands documents created by Zoner Draw version 4 and 5.

Libfreehand is a library that parses the file format of Aldus/Macromedia/Adobe FreeHand documents.

libepubgen is an EPUB generator for librevenge. It supports librevenge's text document interface and--currently in a very limited way--presentation and vector drawing interfaces.

MyThes is a simple thesaurus that uses a structured text data file and an index file with binary search to look up words and phrases and to return information on pronunciations, meanings and synonyms.

Libexttextcat is an N-Gram-Based Text Categorization library primarily intended for language guessing.
